Home

I've dreamed of loving
A million times before
But your love is just
So much more
Than I ever imagined
So like a child my arms
Are outreached grabbing
As much as I can hold
Can't believe God made
A beauty so bold
And even attached wings
So now a real life angel
Belongs to me
I heard lightning never
Strikes twice in the same spot
But it struck my heart
Three times & it's still hot
As I sit back & watch
You mold a perfect love
In a flawed man
Finally I'm strong again!
With your strength behind me
The spotlights of the world
Can't find me
No human hate can taint
What we share
A beautiful home in a heart
So quant yet hardly bare
Full of memories
Flashes of happiness
Never thought I'd ever
Have the fortune of trapping this
Ever sought but rarely bought
Emotion and find it hidden
Behind the face of an angel
Can't deny that I'm smitten
Hooked, apple's been bitten
And now this lonely soul
Finally has a heart to call home.

Good Food + Good Day = I Love LA

Finally a good spot to eat. My friend Damon has been a Chef in the catering business for over 15 years in LA and to much celebration on my part he has open a new Restaurant! D's Original Takeout Grill is hands down one of my favorite food spots in LA. Took forever for me to get acclimated to the food here, so much so that I lost weight, and I always looked forward to catching one of his catering events to save me from starving lol. If you've been around the valley then you know about neighborhood favorites like Uncle Andre's & Ribs U.S.A. which is most popular and which he is a founder of! I almost laughed cause when i was introduced to his food and smugly brought Ribs U.S.A. into comparison with his food I got my ass handed to me when I found out that he created my favorite Burbank cuisine!

I know this is a music, entertainment, and everything that's cool blog but I had to bring it into the fold cause, well I love food! Shout out to everyone at D's Original Takeout Grill (Damon & Wendy)and If you can't make it down there then pick up his sauce at any Whole Foods Grocer in the Southern Pacific Rim.

Are Industry Politics Necessary?

Yesterday I found myself in a conversation with a total stranger (as I often do), and this very nice guy was complaining to me about industry politics. Strangely enough, I heard myself defending politics to a certain degree, as a preventative measure of people getting "spammed" with too much material. Nowaday's with everyone having access to the tools needed to make music, 1 out of every 5 people is a "producer", which explains the high level of "junk" that's invading the radio today. Politics are a necessary evil; Evil because they interrupt the introduction of new true talent. Necessary because they block the pretender's from taking the spot of real talent. The grey area lies in who is qualified to determine what's junk & what's real?

What are your thoughts and do you think politics are necessary?

Living The Life

Ok, back again and gonna try to stay consistent. Benn a lot going on and I'm sure a LOT more to come. I've experienced "Living The Life" in more ways than I ever imagined! Nobody has ever successfully documented the process of "making it" (at least not to my knowledge). It seems like they always manage to leave out the less desireable details. Things like having to sleep in your car, taking bird bath's in restaurants in between studio sessions, and going to lunch with millionaire's and only ordering a salad because you can't afford anything else. So much goes into "living the life" that people don't realize...it sucks cause when your "on" it's a whirlwind of compliments and stabs in the back...all numbed by the euphoria of the world knowing your name. I am in the middle of the battle...in a constant state of building & rebuilding the empire I dream of every day and night. I am a songwriter whose primary income is derived from the film industry (to the dismay of actual actors), imagine the irony in that! LOL as painful as it all has been I love every heartbreaking moment of this process. Because, I know the more I go through things that average people never do, I will experience a success that average people will never see. I hope everyone who thrust themselves into the fire of dreamscapes comes out successful having realized their hearts desire's.
